RESET AIR - Twin&Earth launch new advisory service
We’re thrilled to announce that one of our team members has just passed the RESET Air Accredited Professional (AP) exam! This certification demonstrates our commitment to long-term occupant health within buildings, by ensuring that indoor air quality parameter thresholds are met during occupation, streamlining indoor air quality management and creating transparency for occupants.
But what exactly is RESET Air, and how can it benefit your projects?
What is RESET Air?
RESET Air is the world’s first sensor-based, performance-driven building standard that focuses on continuously measuring and improving indoor air quality. Unlike traditional building certifications, which rely on static data points, RESET Air uses real-time monitoring to ensure that air quality remains consistently high throughout the lifecycle of a building.
There are two certification routes – RESET Air for Commercial Interiors or Core & Shell certification.
RESET Air for Commercial Interiors is a performance-based standard that monitors, tracks and communicates the quality of air to occupants of an interior space. Indoor air quality sensors are installed throughout the floorplate within regularly occupied spaces.
RESET Air for Core & Shell conversely focuses on monitoring the quality of air being delivered by the project’s mechanical ventilation system in comparison to the outdoor air. Indoor air quality sensors are placed outdoors near to the air intake(s) and paired with indoor air monitors within the HVAC system, post filtration and post-mixing.
The following key indoor air quality parameters are measured for the outdoor and indoor air quality sensors:
Particulate Matter (PM2.5 and PM10)
Total Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
Temperature
Humidity
Carbon Monoxide (only in spaces with combustion – only relevant for Commercial Interiors)
By monitoring these metrics in real time, building managers can make data-driven decisions that improve the health and comfort of occupants.
How RESET Air Can Be Applied to Projects
RESET Air can be integrated into a variety of building types—offices, retail spaces, schools, and residential buildings— either as part of new constructions or through retrofits in existing structures.
Here’s how it can enhance your projects:
Real-Time Monitoring: Sensors provide continuous data on indoor air quality, enabling immediate corrective actions when IAQ declines.
Health & Well-Being: Better air quality leads to improved occupant health, productivity, and satisfaction.
Sustainability Goals: Achieving RESET Air certification can contribute to other green building certifications like BREEAM, LEED, WELL and Fitwel.
Compliance & Transparency: The data-driven approach provides transparency for building occupants and ensures ongoing compliance with air quality standards.
As a RESET Air AP, we’re now more equipped than ever to help you create healthier, more sustainable indoor environments. Reach out to learn how we can integrate RESET Air into your next project and ensure continuous improvement in air quality!
